<p class="MsoNormal">WA has centralized classification specifications and employers have delegated authority for classification allocation. Each employer determines how position description forms will be processed and maintained.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The civil service rules (non-represented positions) and collective bargaining agreements (represented positions) require each employer to maintain a current position description for each classified position. The civil service rules don’t
state that the position description must be a paper copy. However, State HR’s standard forms include a signature block for the appointing authority, supervisor and employee. There may be additional requirements in the CBAs.<o:p></o:p></p>
