The February "Map of the Month" has been posted to the GIS website (along with maps previously posted to the site) and can now be viewed at:  http://gis.idaho.gov/portal/maps/gallery.html

This month's map application was submitted by Kara Utter, Valley County.  Kara created a Snowmobile Groomed Trails map application for Valley County based on data from multiple sources, including the FS winter travel maps. It has some cool features and great information for winter recreationists.  Groom dates are updated daily by Valley County Recreation and comments are included when obstructions or warnings to grooming or snowmobiling occur on a stretch of groomed trail. Roads that Valley County is responsible for plowing are included as a source for those driving to destinations for winter recreation.

The map features an ability to turn on Snow Depth recordings provided and updated daily by National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC) ArcGIS Online service and the 72-hour snow forecast from National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) ArcGIS Online service.
