[IGCM] 2022 IGC-EC Elections - CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

IGC and Geotech members,

Each year, half of the Idaho Geospatial Council - Executive Committee (IGC-EC) elected seats are up for election.  We are seeking members of the IGC who are interested in running for election for the IGC-EC.  Please let me know if you would be interested in running, or if you would like to nominate someone.  The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 18th and voting will occur by email during the first two weeks of March.  Elected members serve staggered two-year terms. Terms for those elected this year will begin on April 1st and end on March 31, 2024.

The requirements for running are:

  *   Candidates must be current members of the IGC (to join, you may sign-up at: https://admws.idaho.gov/mailman/listinfo/igcm
  *   Candidates may only run for a seat that represents their stakeholder group (i.e. an employee of a state agency can only run for a state seat; an employee of a private sector company can only run for the private seat, etc.)

Some background on the IGC-EC:  This committee (which is a subcommittee of the ITA<https://ita.idaho.gov/committees/> [Idaho Technology Authority]) provides policy-level direction and promotes efficient and effective use of resources for matters related to geographic information.  The committee meets every other month during odd months and is comprised of 16 members (4 standing and 12 elected):

Standing members:

  1.  The current Idaho Geospatial Information Officer
  2.  The current Idaho Geospatial Clearinghouse/Portal Manager
  3.  The current GIS Training and Research Center Manager
  4.  The current USGS Liaison for the State of Idaho

Elected members (representing the following stakeholder groups):

  *   Two state agency representatives - Seat 1 & 2
  *   Two federal agency representatives - Seat 3 & 4
  *   Three local government representatives - Seat 5, 6, 7
  *   One tribal representative - Seat 8
  *   One utility representative - Seat 9
  *   One private sector representative - Seat 10
  *   Two open representatives - Seat 11 & 12
