I am Gerry Smith, Information Services Manager at Idaho DEQ. My agency is preparing to do a total rebuild/refresh of our public website (https://www.deq.idaho.gov).

As part of my planning, I'd like to know a few things about YOUR public-facing websites to better help me make solid recommendations to my Director. If you could answer the following questions for me, I would very much appreciate it and your time!

1.       What is the URL of your public-facing agency website?cdhd.idaho.gov

2.       Has your site had significant rework/modification/update in the last 3 years? Yes, rebuilt from the ground up in the past year.

3.       If so, who did the design of your site? Your internal staff? Access Idaho? Contractor (please specify whom)? ICON Design, Boise.

4.       Does your site use a Content Management System (CMS) back end, or are all pages static? If CMS, which do you use and what version (i.e. Wordpress, DNN, Umbraco, Drupal, etc.)? We used HTML 5. We have some other minor websites that use Wordpress and consistently get hacked. That is why our main website is HTML 5.

5.       If you use a CMS, are you satisfied with it? Would you recommend it? Now doing a ground up for our intranet and are using Wordpress an quite happy with it.

6.       If you had significant rework done, please describe the scope of work, the cost, and length of project (including migrating content from your old system to your new system). We had a very mature website with over 500 pages. It took about a year to wade through all of the content. The vendor used Wireframe for prototyping.
