[CLBS] Service by Posting

I am doing an eviction proceeding.  The Defendant is purposefully evading service with a locked gate and pit bulls.  At the eviction hearing I asked the Judge to allow service by posting.  He said he would if I could provide statutory or case law authority.

I have done some research, and so far found none.  Is anybody aware of any authority to do service by posting?
