Good morning!

I have received a request for information regarding market data for Hospital Administrator salaries.

I am working with internal leadership for comps for this position in SD. As we consider options, it would be helpful to understand what other state Hospital Administrators are being paid.

Our target market is WY, MT, ND, MN, IA, NE as these will be the closest markets/comps for us in the upper Midwest. However, I would welcome data from other States for consideration and comparisons.

On behalf of the National Compensation Association of State Governments (NCASG), please find attached the NCASG 2021 Benefits Survey, including a response form and an instruction document.  Thirty-two states participated last year, two more than the previous two years.  Let's see if we can add a few more this year.  All participants will receive a detailed results report.

New for 2021.
Other than changing dates and some minor editing of the response form and the instructions, we have made no changes to the survey this year.

Nonetheless, please note that Table 6 (Employer and Employee Contributions to Health Insurance Premiums) was significantly simplified a few years ago.  On this table please provide data only for the one plan with the largest participation, and indicate whether the plan type is Indemnity, PPO, or HMO.

I have access to every state's 2020 response.  If you do not have a copy of your state's 2020 submission but would like to have one for reference while completing the 2021 survey, please let me know.  Since little has changed in the survey since last year, it should be relatively simple to provide an update with changes to your 2020 submission. Indiana has signed a letter of intent with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and will be creating classifications to support this agreement. There are 39 states that are considered NRC agreement states (Link to Map<https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/hUoCCyPyAXHry77LfZ-ZZf?domain=scp.nrc.gov>). Currently PayScale and O*net are being utilized with more to be desired. I am looking to gather any information regarding classification(s) and salary ranges of what other states have created as a result of this agreement.

We have had difficulty finding good labor market matches for roles within our Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners. Specifically, the role of Inspector, which is responsible for physically inspecting and auditing facilities that practice Cosmetology, Esthetics, Manicuring, and Natural Hair Care to ensure compliance with training, sanitation, record-keeping and other requirements has been difficult to find matches to assist with market pricing. These roles require a high school education or GED, but also must be licensed as a Cosmetologist in the State of NC by the NC Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners and must have four years' experience as a licensed cosmetologist including as a salon owner or manager. Similarly, the supervisor role must also be licensed with at least five years of experience, including experience as a salon owner or manager.

We understand that various states may handle these services differently, but wondered if you have similar jobs within your state and, if so, if you can provide the average salary for both the inspector level and the supervisory level of work?

Other than changing dates and some minor editing of the response form and the instructions, we have made no changes to the survey this year.

Nonetheless, please note that Table 6 (Employer and Employee Contributions to Health Insurance Premiums) was significantly simplified a few years ago.  On this table please provide data only for the one plan with the largest participation, and indicate whether the plan type is Indemnity, PPO, or HMO.

I have access to every state's 2020 response.  If you do not have a copy of your state's 2020 submission but would like to have one for reference while completing the 2021 survey, please let me know.  Since little has changed in the survey since last year, it should be relatively simple to provide an update with changes to your 2020 submission.
