[NCASG] Trainees & Salary Progressions

The state of NC is updating our Pay Administration policy and practice to restructure the way we use Trainees including the salary progressions.  We are soliciting feedback on your State’s related policies and practices.  If possible, please reply to stephanie.McFadden at nc.gov<mailto:stephanie.McFadden at nc.gov> with your responses to the questions below, by January 10, 2023.

  1.  Does your state currently use Trainees?  If so, can you explain and share how you set the salary progressions for trainees?  If you have written guidance, training or a policy, please provide the relevant link or attach a copy of the training/policy that governs it.
  2.  When was it implemented?
  3.  If your state does not have a Trainee Progression Program, are there plans to establish one in the near future?   ​
