Greetings -

The State of Oregon is reaching out to see if other states perform the same or similar work as our Juvenile Foster Care Specialist classification.

The State of Oregon Juvenile Foster Care Specialist provides foster care services to adjudicated youth and supports foster and proctor parents to create opportunities for youth reformation in safe environments. Positions recruit, train, certify, and supervise foster homes and ensure compliance with rules, policies, procedures, and agreements.

These positions require four years of experience in human services or related case management (i.e., managing a caseload that involved family coaching, case planning, placement decisions, child protection issues, treatment interventions, outcome reviews or reengagement); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the work.
