Hi Ellen -
Yes, we do have a differential of sorts for direct patient care nurses versus public health or other nurses who do little or no direct patient care. We have what we call market factor adjustments that are supplements to our regular pay chart. They apply to a specific job class. The job classes that are direct patient care for the most part have a 50% market factor adjustment whereas most of the non-direct patient care nursing classes have a somewhere between 25% and 35% market factor adjustment.
We do not offer an adoption reimbursement benefit.
Thanks,

Hi all - two totally unrelated questions!
1. We have been asked to consider implementing a pay practice whereby nurses who provide patient care in facilities are paid a differential to make them higher paid than nurses who do not work weekends, nights, holidays, or on shift rotations. In other words, they do not do as much patient care, although they would work as a nurse in a community health office or as a nurse advisor.
Do any of you do something like that for your facility nurses?
1. Does your state offer an adoption reimbursement benefit up to a certain amount for adoptions that take place in your state? If so, what is the maximum benefit?
Thanks much for your information. Let me know if you have any questions.
