From dopl-communication at dopl.idaho.gov Fri Aug 2 09:24:10 2024 From: dopl-communication at dopl.idaho.gov (DOPL Trades Licensing) Date: Fri, 2 Aug 2024 15:24:10 +0000 Subject: ATTENTION: New Plumbing Examination & Application Process Message-ID: Greetings, The Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) is pleased to announce our new partnership IAPMO and Professional Service Industries (PSI) for examination services! This collaboration introduces a more efficient process for obtaining your Plumbing Journeyman license. Examination and Application Procedures Effective on 9/4/2024, applicants for this license will be required to take and pass the applicable IAPMO examination before applying for licensure with DOPL. Once applicants pass the examination, the score will be sent directly to DOPL, significantly reducing processing wait times. Additionally, partnering with PSI has increased the number of available seats and testing sites throughout the state, allowing candidates to quickly schedule and complete exams with shorter wait times. The exam content is based on the 2015 UPC, and the exam fee is still $75. You may schedule an exam online here: https://www.psiexams.com NOTE: For those currently scheduled for an examination through DOPL, you may contact our office by emailing tradelicensing at dopl.idaho.gov and request a refund of your examination fee if you prefer to schedule through PSI as their availability may allow for you to test sooner. New Applications To support this change, DOPL will have updated the application for the Plumbing Journeyman license. This new application will be available online at https://dopl.idaho.gov/plb/plb-licensing as of 9/4/2024. Attached is an FAQ that will provide additional information about this new process. We believe these improvements will make the licensing process more efficient and convenient for everyone. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. When the Board became part of the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL), they chose to join other licensing boards in offering the Professional Recovery Program. This program was created to assist medical and behavioral health professionals struggling with mental health or substance abuse. DOPL offers a confidential, non-disciplinary program. The goal of the Professional Recovery Program is to assist health professionals and their families in identifying substance use disorders that may be a potential threat to the individual or their loved ones. The program aims to lessen the negative impacts on individuals and their careers. Research shows that disciplinary actions don't necessarily intervene in the progression of addiction. However, individualized addiction treatment can be an effective method of treatment for medical and behavioral health professionals and society at large. Do you or does someone else you know feel stuck in the cycle of addiction? Do you know someone in the behavioral health community struggling who needs help? You can choose the direction you are headed and get help addressing substance use or mental health. If you answered yes to any of the questions above, let us help you preserve your license and start the road to recovery. For further information about this program, contact me. Funding received from the State Directed Opioid Settlement Fund has been granted to cover the expenses of enrollment, allowing enrollment free of cost to the heath professional. In accordance with the Idaho Behavioral Health Council's priorities, this funding opportunity aims to incentivize new non-physician healthcare providers (e.g., pharmacists, prescribing psychologists, physician assistants, etc.) across Idaho to acquire DEA registration, thereby increasing the accessibility of treatment for patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Applicants eligible to receive funding from this grant are licensed prescribers in Idaho who choose to register with the DEA in consideration of the recent removal of the X Waiver requirement for prescribing Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). The awarded funds will serve as reimbursement for the cost of DEA registration.
