The Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) has decided to implement a phased approach to transitioning Boards to the new Licensing system. The Boards and Programs listed below will not be transitioning to the new licensing system in July. Instead, they will transition on November 4, 2024, to align with the slowdown in building and recreational activities during the winter months:
* Building Code
* Damage Prevention
* Electrical
* Elevator Program
* Factory Built Structures
* HVAC
* Industrial Safety
* Logging Safety
* Plumbing
* Public Works Contractors
* Outfitters and Guides
In order to ensure a smooth process for our customers during their busiest building and outdoor recreational seasons, DOPL has made this decision to minimize any potential disruptions for permitting, licensure, or inspections. Trade Permits will continue to be purchased in the existing system through October 31, 2024.
DOPL will provide you with additional information in the early fall as the second stage of the new licensing system implementation approaches.
