[Icoord] TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR FACILITY MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEES

Agency Insurance Coordinators,

Travelers, the State's property insurance carrier, has recently conducted multiple building inspections.  During those inspections, it came to Risk Management's attention that some state owned buildings which contain sprinkler systems and fire pumps have not been properly inspected or tested on regular basis by agency facility maintenance staff.  This could be due to lack of staff and/or proper training.

Sprinkler systems and fire pump inspections are a life safety issue and Risk Management would like to invite your facility maintenance staff to a training opportunity we plan to hold in early April/May of 2018.

This training opportunity will be held at each of the three Universities (BSU, U of I and ISU) to allow all applicable state agency facility maintenance staff that are responsible for the fire system maintenance in state owned buildings to attend. The actual dates and times are yet to be determined.

To allow for adequate space at each University location , please provide the following information if this training opportunity is applicable to your agency:


  1.  Total number of facility maintenance employees from your agency who would attend this training session?
  2.  Which location (BSU, ISU or Univ. of Idaho) would be the closer venue for your employee to attend this training session?
