[Idaho Veterans]

Idaho veterans,

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  First and foremost, I am a combat veteran.  I spent 7 years (1998-2005) in the Air Force with Security Forces, where I was a commander of a 400-person squadron and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).  I also come from a military family.  Both my mother and father were in the Army.  I have two sisters in the Navy, a brother that was in the Coast Guard, and another sister who served in the Army.  My wife is also an active duty Air National Guard officer at Gowen Field.  Needless to say, the military and veterans are near and dear to my heart.

After my military service, I obtained a master's degree in Health and Human Performance and returned to the military as a civilian running the Health and Wellness Center at Mountain Home AFB.  I was at Mountain Home AFB for close to 9 years and got to do some amazing things for our military members and veterans.  For the past two and a half years I have been working within the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) in the Family and Community Services division, where I ran the largest Bureau within DHW.

I am truly honored to be back serving veterans. I have been incredibly impressed with the people at the Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) and the services they provide to all our veteran heroes in Idaho.  This really is an organization of people who truly care about our veterans and are doing amazing things every day to support and help them.  I am fortunate to be part of IDVS and look forward to doing even greater things for veterans here in Idaho in the future.
