[IDHR] New HR Manager at DHR

DHR Team!

We are excited to announce that we have hired our 3rd HR Manager role as a part of the HR Modernization transition overseeing the Natural Resources HR Team. Our new HR Manager will be Kristy Bobish-Thompson!

Kristy was born and raised in Pocatello, ID.  She and her husband, Tom, have been married for eighteen years and have two boys - Gage, age 16, and Kade, age 13.  She loves spending time with her family enjoying the outdoors, whether it be hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, camping, or four-wheeling.

Kristy graduated from Idaho State University earning a Bachelor's in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources.  She joined Micron Technology, Inc. in 2000 and worked in their Human Resource Department for seven years.  She started out in the Personnel Records area maintaining personnel files and then in 2003 joined the Workforce Mobility Group at Micron, where she was responsible to coordinate the Expatriate/Inpatriate assignments, relocating staff to and from Italy, Japan, Singapore, and China and ramping up the facilities in Virginia and Utah to meet strategic plans.

In late 2007, she chose to stay home with her first-born for six months before re-entering the workforce at the Idaho Industrial Commission as a Human Resource Associate, coordinating recruitment, payroll, and safety.  A short eight months later, in 2008 she transferred to the Idaho Department of Correction as a Human Resource Specialist, Senior.  During her four years there she served as a technical expert in employee relations, management consultation, and performance management, supervising staff in personnel action processing, recruitment, and benefits.  From September 2012 to March 215, she served as the Human Resource Officer for the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, managing and administering all functions of HR.

Since March 2015, she has been the Human Resource Officer for the Idaho State Police, serving as a member of their Executive Leadership.  She's thoroughly enjoyed this time with her "blue family" and her amazing team of five HR professionals.  The experience garnered from ISP, and overseeing the Brands and Racing agencies to boot, has well prepared her to take on the role of Human Resource Manager serving the Natural Resource agencies.

She is excited to join the team to move our State of Idaho HR forward!  She prescribes to the philosophy of Servant Leadership and looks forward to serving every one of you.  Go Team DHR!!

Please welcome me in congratulating Kristy on this promotional opportunity! We are still working out the final details on when she will officially start with DHR but we are anticipating the middle/end of June.
