BIOS:

BRYNN LACABANNE (Idaho Transportation Dept., District 3)
Brynn Lacabanne is a GIS Analyst with the Idaho Transportation Department. She has more than 8 years of GIS experience with a strong focus in earth/environmental sciences and GPS data collection. She completed biodiversity studies on Catalina Island in 2011 in pursuit of a Masters in GIS Technology and is currently pursuing a Masters in Environmental Science and two Masters Certificates in Fire Ecology and Restoration Ecology. Brynn's major projects at ITD include aiding the environmental team with MS4 compliance, building permitting databases, workflows, and applications, and asset data collection and management.

DENNIS HILL (City of Pocatello)

I am a lifelong resident of the Gem State, more particularly South East Idaho. I attended Idaho State University and acquired a few credentials. I have a BS in Engineering, AAS in Surveying and a smattering of life experiences, and that is an understatement. I have worked so many jobs it makes my head hurt, but the important ones were for the Forest Service as a surveyor, a title company, and the City of Pocatello for 26 years as the GIS Manager. I have been involved in the GIS community for long enough to have some great stories to tell, but don't worry I won't.  I live on the Portneuf River on 13 acres which I consider paradise; although it is a lot of work it's very rewarding.

WENDY HAWLEY (U.S. Census Bureau)
Wendy has been working in the Geography section of the Census Bureau since 1984, after graduating with a B.A. in Geography (emphasizing cartography) from the University of Washington. She started her career as a Cartographic Technician, becoming a Geographer in 1986. Wendy has been involved with the MAF/TIGER database since the beginning stages of identifying features to be included, to the more recent activities involving the incorporation of data gathering via GPS technology. Although her career has primarily focused on geography (allowing her the opportunity to work on most Census geographic programs) she has also had the opportunity to manage a survey (1992-1994), conduct a Test Census on Fort Hall Reservation (1996), and manage Decennial field operations in Western Washington (2000 and 2010) and Alaska (2010). She is currently working on the Geographic Support System Initiative and Geographic Areas Programs and is the Census Regional Geographer assigned to Idaho and Alaska. Geography is a key component of census activities and GIS is used throughout the process, from the first activities of address canvassing to final data delivery.

STEWART WARD (Dioptra, LLC)
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Technology from Idaho State University in 2008 and am a registered Professional Land Surveyor in Idaho and Utah. I work for Dioptra, a full-service Land Surveying and Geomatics firm located in Eastern Idaho. I have been involved with surveying since 2001 with experience in land surveys, construction staking, control surveys, 3D Scanning, mapping and GIS applications. I manage small to mid-sized surveying projects for Dioptra and I am the lead surveyor on mapping and GIS projects. I have been involved with GIS since 2006. Since 2009, I have been involved with the Cadastral Reference TWG and had a role in defining the attributes to be used in the Multi-State Control Point Database (MCPD). I am currently a member of the Steering Committee for the East Idaho Regional Resource Center. I believe that my background in surveying and my experience with the Regional Resource Center and other Technical Working Groups will bring fresh ideas and knowledge to the IGC-EC that will enhance the GIS efforts in Idaho. I believe that surveyors need to be involved with the GIS efforts in Idaho and without this involvement and support; the GIS and Surveying communities will struggle to work together.

DONNA PHILLIPS (City of Hayden)

Donna Phillips, GISP has been the GIS/Engineering Services Coordinator for the City of Hayden since July of 1999. As such she is a one woman GIS shop who takes care of nearly 70 various GIS datasets for the public works and community and economic development departments, with 3 active services published on a monthly to quarterly basis for City Staff use. As a part of the Public Works department, she is the liaison with the developer, the engineer of record, the surveyor, the reviewing development engineer, and city staff for all subdivision and infrastructure related projects within the City. In addition, Donna enjoys her work with the Historic Preservation
Commission and the Urban Forestry Commission as both their Clerk and Staff Liaison.  In her spare time, she enjoys time with her two children, husband, family, and friends at various activities, such as soccer and basketball events, camping, hiking, swimming, four-wheeling, bicycling, church, music, cooking, and general crafting and handiwork activities.

FRANK ROBERTS (Innovate! Inc.)
Frank Roberts has been involved in Idaho's geospatial community for over 20 years. He has served the GIS community by acting as interim IGC-EC chair, chairing the metadata working group, acting as the tribal representative for IGC, organizing outreach for the statewide roads pilot, and co-chairing the State Clearinghouse Working Group. Frank is employed by Innovate! Inc. as the Director of Information Technology, managing a very talented group of solution architects and geospatial programmers. His team primarily crafts mobile and web-based geospatial solutions for clients in Idaho and throughout the United States. When Frank isn't thinking about technology, he fills his time by making music with his wife and taking his children fishing as much as possible.

BONNIE MOORE (City of Rexburg)
I'm a GIS Analyst with the City of Rexburg and Madison County. We are a joint City County GIS Department so we keep busy supporting both entities. I've been in local government for the past 22 years starting in the Assessor's Office and then moving into GIS for past 16 years. I have worked for Teton County, Fremont County, and Madison County all in the great state of Idaho. I have served the past three years on the IGC-EC and would happily continue to serve in this capacity.

LAURIE AMES (Nez Perce Tribe)
Professional: GIS Coordinator for the Nez Perce Tribe - 1 year. Remote Sensing Specialist with the Nez Perce Tribe - 11 years. Assist the Nez Perce Tribe with effective coordinating and management of a Geographic Information Systems infrastructure that provides current and informative spatial information. This position provides leadership and guidance to a team of geospatial and management-level professionals. Member of the Imagery TWIG, URISA and ASPRS. Education: University of Idaho - B.S. Geography (Physical Science and Environment); University of Idaho - M.S. Geography Course work (Remote Sensing/GIS) "Agricultural Burn Scars using Landsat Imagery"; University of Idaho - GIS Certification. Personal: Wife, mother of two daughters and grandmother to three amazing grandkids, 2 girls, 1 boy. I love to read, knit and walk the Latah Trail.
