[StateGIS] FW: FTP! Service Issues

For the agencies that are accessing the GIS Parcel Data via the FTP -  some information from the state server team related to some server issues.

ALL:

   As you may have noted, we have had some issues the last several days with this service.  The short version of the events is that the hardware holding the OS and data for this virtual machine has been having connectivity issues since last Wednesday.

   When this happens, the operating system, as a defense against exploit, places the RAM memory allotments for all services in a read-only state so nothing can be written dynamically to the system until a reboot.

   We opted this morning, since the service was dead anyway, to migrate it to a different storage area of our virtual environment.

   This move has taken far longer than I had originally thought it would.  I'm sorry for this and sorry that I did not give more notice of this issue before taking action to migrate the system to more reliable hardware.

   I will let you know when this system is back on-line.
