Please be aware that if the recent Oracle Critical Patch Update (CPU)<http://autobahn.esri.com/esri/etrack.aspx?DSN=b9ca57b2fbe8cb42458807853387983f6a0f6be5ccdab113&FORMID=a88634312a5294d91fb9e7e66463ae9a&AUDID=75650c9a5b00240e891810095d1688a7&EMAILID=0eca6245f62ca8833fc9f01f4bde3d323d552087249ace60&DECODE=1&INTID=29f077164fd3d46b66c7126c87d4d4d4&URL=http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/cpuoct2014-1972960.html> released on October 14th, 2014 is installed on your Oracle database, connecting to the Oracle database will crash ArcGIS.

This issue only affects you if you use Oracle. All versions of ArcGIS are impacted by this CPU.

What You Need to Do

  *   If you have not yet installed the patch listed above, do not install it, per Esri's recommendation.
  *   If you have installed the patch listed above, Esri recommends that you roll it back to restore normal operations.


Esri and Oracle are working closely to understand and resolve the problem.
