[StateGIS] GIS Agency Meeting - Looking at the Future

State GIS Managers and Staff,

This meeting relates to the State Plan for Technology Consolidation with the new Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) in the Governor's Office.  The current Office of the CIO will be moving July first into  the ITS (including me).
                The Items that we need to look at in the technology environment (which includes GIS) are:
                                Leveraging Purchase for the State to get better pricing
                                License consolidation to take advantage of volume discounts and maintenance costs
                                Equipment consolidation to the new State Data Center at the Chinden Campus.
                                Enterprise servers with Georedundancy, failover, load balanced, backend storage and etc.
                                Technology employees working together more closely and/or consolidation.


As we move forward with the move to the Governor's Office and looking at better ways to do things, I would like to get everybody together and discuss the future and get ideas for the future direction.

Please forward this to anybody that would be interested at the State Agencies.
