By request, we've added a second solar eclipse map to the GIS website for our "Map of Month" feature on the GIS website:

The two maps have been posted (along with maps previously posted to the site) and can be viewed at: http://gis.idaho.gov/portal/maps/gallery.html

MAP DETAILS:

  1. "Fish the Eclipse!" - Bait while you wait! The Eclipse's path through Idaho includes some of the best freshwater fishing in the West. While you're waiting for two minutes of total darkness, explore the fishing nearest you. (Courtesy of Idaho Dept. of Fish & Game)

  1. "Travel the Path of the Solar Eclipse" - A story map illustrating the path of the upcoming solar eclipse on August 21. The map follows the shadow of the moon as it completely blocks out the sun on August 21 across a 3,000 mile path from Oregon's Pacific Coast to the eastern shore of South Carolina.

Where will you be?
