[Idaho Geospatial Council Membership]

The October "Map of the Month" has been posted to the GIS website (along with maps previously posted to the site) and can now be viewed at:  http://gis.idaho.gov/portal/maps/gallery.html

This month we're featuring a story map about the Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness, which shares how Congress uses GIS to collaborate and engage stakeholders.  This interactive map explains the 43-year long battle for the Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness designation and includes a mention of the Office of the CIO, which "created a web mapping application to allow Sen. Risch's staff to explore the proposed areas and overlay them with various other datasets..." allowing them to discuss options while away from their offices visiting stakeholders.
