PERSI is currently evaluating options for modernizing and improving the agency intranet.  We would greatly appreciate any information your agency can give us from your experience.  We've put together the following list of questions we hope to have answered.   If you currently have an intranet, please provide feedback on the following. Note: Not all may be applicable - please skip or enter NA.

1)      What tools, product, platform, and/or vendors do you use to enable the functionality of your intranet?

2)      How long has the current intranet been in place?

3)      Any plans to migrate to a new product/platform/etc. (or add additional products) in the near future? If so, when and why?

4)      What is the primary three to five uses of the intranet within your organization?

5)      What use cases are you envisioning that are not built yet?

6)      Is your intranet tool cloud-based or on-premise? What were the factors that most influenced the decision for that option?

7)      Was the primary platform designed/migrated by in-house or outside consultants/vendors? What were the factors that most influenced the decision for that option?

8)      If you allow for shared workspaces, who owns the management of those areas?

9)      For content published for consumption, does that content go through an "approval" process? How does that work?

10)   What other governance enablers exist? (e.g. retention policies, content management, etc.)

11)   How involved has your in-house IT staff been after the initial setup and roll-out? Has their work increased or decreased? Was this forecasted?

12)   What are the three primary lessons learned and/or pitfalls you would now avoid with your intranet?

13)   What are the three primary best outcomes/advantages your agency now enjoys due to your intranet?  Were all three of these intentional?
