[Agencyitmanagers] Mimecast Migration: PLEASE READ

All,

We have started migrating the agencies with the domains listed below to "Mimecast" the new Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam/Anti-Phishing email filtering solution. The agencies listed will begin migration 5/24 to 6/25, included at the end of the list are agencies that have migrated.

During this transition it is possible that you will receive Quarantine summaries from both Mimecast and Cisco (the current solution) for a short period of time, 1-2 days. No email should be lost, it is just a matter of timing as to which provider will scan the incoming messages.


What do you need to do?
Please send us a contact person for your agency to pmo at its.idaho.gov<mailto:pmo at its.idaho.gov> with email subject line "Mimecast contact". We will send additional information, work with the contact to answer questions and problem solve if necessary. Please communicate the "Best practice" below to your users.


ITS Supported Agencies (identified in the grid below)


  *   Best practice, Users should sign out at the end of their workday and restart the computer at the beginning of the next workday. This should be done for 10 business days or until Mimecast has populated the outlook ribbon. If Mimecast has not populated the outlook ribbon and the user has followed the best practice, then create an Ivanti Service Desk ticket noting Mimecast has not populated the outlook ribbon.

  *   Once migrated, Users will -

  *   Receive spam quarantine emails from Mimecast.
  *   Need to build their block/permitted sender list in Mimecast.
     *   We are unable to migrate this information.
     *   May be asked to authenticate their device.
        *   If asked to authenticate, use your normal Windows login information for this step.


Non-ITS Supported Agencies not supported by ITS (identified in the grid below)


  *   We will work with the contact of each agency to provide week of migration information.





  *   Once migrated, agencies not supported by ITS -
Users will have a similar email like the image below that will give you the ability to Release, Block, Permit options. There is no ability to preview the message.
