Missouri is implementing a new pay structure for our state employees effective 7/1/2020. See attached FAQ

Changes are coming next month!

Our job and pay structures are changing on July 1, 2020. The new structure makes career options easier to understand and emphasizes your ability to grow within the State of Missouri. This structure also helps you align your professional goals with a career path.

The total number of job titles will be reduced by almost half, from 850 to 472. As a result, most team members will experience a change in job title.

Even though your job title is changing, your pay will not go down. In the upcoming days, your Human Resources staff will share more information.

Good morning from West Virginia,

I hope everyone is staying safe.  I have a few questions, and if you could respond to me by July 6, 2020 that would be awesome:


  1.  Has your state changed or implemented a new classification and/or compensation system?  New system taking place 7/1/2020
  2.  Did you do it internal?  Or did you contract with a firm/agency to assist? We hired a contractor Kenning Consulting Inc. to help us designed the new pay structure.
  3.  If your state contracted with a firm or an agency, can you tell me why you chose to contract and not perform the change internally? We don't have the necessary resources in staff to perform this function.
  4.  Have any of you moved away from or to a point factor system?  Can you tell me why? Don't have it in Missouri.
