Steve,

Arkansas plans to participate. Is it too late to send our response?

Mike

Good afternoon everyone,

Just a reminder that the 2020 NCASG Salary Survey's due date is technically today. Thanks to all of you who have provided responses so far!

I have had a few states reach out to me asking for an extension. Of course, this year is particularly challenging for many of us to meet these due dates, so if you fall into the category of still wanting/planning to participate, but just need some more time, that is completely fine. Just please let me know if you think it would be longer than a week from today. I know folks are busy, and I will do what I can to work with anyone who would like to be a part of this great survey.

Thanks,

Hello,

On behalf of the National Compensation Association of State Governments (NCASG), please find attached the 2020 NCASG Classified and Executive Salary Survey. 37 states participated last year, and enjoyed the benefit of free salary survey results for participants!

Please reply to acknowledge receipt and whether your state plans to participate. If so, please identify if you or someone else will be the primary survey contact.

Please carefully read the instructions on the first spreadsheet tab. There are no changes from last year's survey benchmarks, so you should be able to copy and paste your job matches from last year's submission into this year's template and update them accordingly. If you are unable to track down your state's survey response from last year, please let me know via email, and I can provide it.

Over the last few years, the audit formulas built into the survey response spreadsheets have been highly successful in alerting states to survey data issues before submission. These audit formulas are in the six columns with yellow-highlighted headers, and the headers briefly indicate the type of data problem each addresses. If the cell formula identifies an issue, the cell turns red and reads “False.” Please keep all these audit columns in your response. The most common False is for actual pay values that exceed the pay range maximum. These are often legitimate, and each case should be confirmed as accurate in the comments column.

Salary Survey data is to be based on full-time pay rates as of July 1, 2020. The completed Survey (both the Classified and Executive worksheets) should be submitted to me by Wednesday, August 26, 2020. After your submission, I or another member of the NCASG survey team will contact you regarding any questions regarding your survey response.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance for your work in building another high-quality NCASG survey product!

- Steve
