Hi Paul,

WA's position is B8550 Executive Director, Pharmacy Commission - DOH. It is in the civil-service-exempt special market band ($123,780 - $198,672); the incumbent's current annual salary is $123,000.

Scope:
The Executive Director, Pharmacy Commission will report to the Health Professions and Facilities Office Director in the Health Systems Quality Assurance Division and is responsible for carrying out the work of the Pharmacy Commission which is responsible for the entire drug distribution network, pharmaceutical care and services in Washington State. They are responsible for regulating the competency, safety, and quality of pharmacists, pharmacy ancillary personnel, and pharmaceutical firms by establishing, monitoring and enforcing qualifications for licensing, examinations or surveys for licensure, consistent safe standards of practice, continuing competency mechanisms and discipline.

The commission has 15 members: 10 pharmacists, a pharmacy technician and four public members appointed by the governor.

Just a quick survey about the Executive Director position at your Board of Pharmacy - if you have separate regulatory board for Pharmacy.  If you could provide your salary range minimum and maximum, and current pay it would much appreciated.  A response by January 20 would be great.

For Minnesota the salary range for this position is $104,484 to $149,480, with our present Executive Director paid at the top of the range.  It is a requirement that the individual be a Pharmacist, and the Board has 24 staff positions and a $4.3 million annual operating budget.

We have recently completed a Hay Study for the position, and are evaluating our market position.   This is a position in Minnesota that is assigned to a range higher than Hay Points would indicate due to labor market considerations.
