The state of NC is exploring options for observing Juneteenth.  If at all possible, please reply to stephanie.McFadden at nc.gov<mailto:stephanie.McFadden at nc.gov> by January 25, 2021.


  1.  Does your state currently observe Juneteenth as a paid holiday? If so, please provide the relevant link or a copy of the Juneteenth policy/provision.
Juneteenth is an observed holiday in Washington. Legislation has been introduced that would make it a paid holiday for state workers: HB 2312<http://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/2019-20/Pdf/Bills/House%20Bills/2312.pdf?q=20200618131000>.


  1.  If your state does not observe Juneteenth as a paid holiday, is it recognized or celebrated in another way such as a proclamation, day of service etc,?  Please explain.
