John,
Effective July 1, 2022 we granted a 2% average performance based increase. No step increase program.
Last year, again affective July 1, we granted a 1.5% average performance based increase, with a $100 minimum. The effect of the minimum amount was that the real average increase was about 2%. Again, no step increase program.

We are proposing a more generous program for the coming biennium.

Hello to all states! I hope a response will be easy for most states. These two questions are for general wage increases applicable to most employees in your state.

  1. What general increases have been applied - or are scheduled - in the current fiscal year? Do many employees (approximately at least 25% of the workforce) receive within-job step increases in addition to these general increases?
  2. What general increases have been applied in the previous fiscal year? Did many employees also receive within-job step increases in addition to the general increases?

For example, Wisconsin provided a 2.0% General Wage Adjustment on January 2, 2022, and will have another 2.0% General Wage Adjustment effective January 1, 2023. Although we have been expanding the use of within-range pay progression, less than 25% of WI employees are eligible for pay progression in a given year.

In November, I will share a concise compilation of results to all responding states. I have attached the compilation shared two years ago.

Please respond if possible by next Monday, October 31. Thank you so much!
