Please see the responses in bold that we have gathered from the West
Virginia Aviation Division.
1. The minimum flight hours required when you recruit/hire for a pilot or
pilot in command - *For fixed-wing aircraft, completion of a minimum of
1,500 hours of fixed-wing flight time. Of the 1,500 hours, 750 hours must
be multi-engine, 100 hours must be certified instrument weather flying, and
100 hours must be night flying. For rotary-wing aircraft, completion of a
minimum of 1,000 hours of rotary-wing flight time. Of the 1,000 hours, 100
hours must be night flying. *
2. What are your average flight hours per week? *Currently 5-10 hours per
month; Historically 30-40 hours per month.*
3. Do your pilots do all of their own flight planning and de-icing? * Yes
(flight planning); No (De-ice)*
4. Do your pilots do their own dispatching?* No. Agency has a flight
scheduler.*
5. Their typical work schedule - for example ours are either 10 on with 3
days off or 11 on with 4 days off - *Every other day. Work from home on
others.*
6. The pay range as well as the average pay for your pilots, pilots in
command, or other relevant flight crew.
