[IDHR] CEC Update

Hello!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re all staying warm with this snowy weather! We had our final CEC committee meeting this afternoon and I wanted to update you on what they voted on.

The committee passed the following:

  *   2% merit increase
  *   1% COLA (all permanent employees receive a 1% increase regardless of performance)
  *   Movement of salary structure upward by an average of 3.7% (see page 115 of CEC report for actual % by pay grade)
  *   Implementation of 2 new structures for IT/Engineering and Nursing/Healthcare
  *   Funding to bring any employees up to minimum of new pay structures

The next part of the process is that the CEC committee co-chairs will present their recommendation to the Joint Finance Appropriation Committee (JFAC) this Friday. If passed by JFAC, it will make its way through the bill process (ask Michelle Peugh about how a bill becomes a law… she knows in and out! 😊)

You’re welcome to update your leadership teams and state employees on the status of the request. Just be sure they understand this isn’t a final decision until there is a bill signed by the Governor! At that point, DHR and DFM issue guidance on the implementation.
