[Igc] GIS Website - November Map of the Month

November's "Map of the Month" has been posted to the GIS website (along with maps previously posted to the site).  Maps can be viewed at:  http://gis.idaho.gov/portal/maps/gallery.html

This month, we are featuring an "Idaho Trails" map created by the Idaho Dept. of Parks and Recreation (IDPR):

This version of the trails application was built with Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS.

Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS enables you to create new custom web mapping applications in an intuitive, easy to use, WYSIWYG wizard-like environment. It provides you with the optimal means to create and deploy new web apps without programming. I had absolutely no programming experience to build the new Idaho Trails Application and it took no longer than 20 minutes to build from start to finish.

You can really build an application within 5 minutes. A little longer if you want to get more widgets to your application. The best part about ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, it that you can customize the web app yourself. You do not have to use or pay a web developer to do web updates. This saves time and money keeping your web application up to date. The first version of the trails application cost a total of $265,000.
