1.     What is your current On-Call Pay Rate?

Current pre-authorized hourly limits are up to $2.25 per hour or ¼ hour of compensatory time for each hour worked.

2.     What is your current Call Back Pay Rate or guarantee?

Once the employee has been called in to work, the employee’s rate of pay would be used for hours worked and potentially overtime would come into play as applicable to non-exempt/exempt statuses.

3.     Do you have "Show Up Pay" that compensates an employee for when the employee reports to work as scheduled but is sent home early because there is insufficient work or the employee is not needed to complete the shift.  What is the rate or guarantee?

4.     Do you have a policy for paying FLSA exempt employees compensatory time?  If so, what is your policy?

Overtime for exempt employees is covered by SCS Rule 21.9, which provides:

21.9 Compensation Rate – Exempt Employees

The appointing authority shall compensate exempt employees in accordance with one of the following options:

(a) No overtime compensation

(b) Compensation at the straight (hour for hour) rate

(c) Overtime performed during official closures due to emergency situations may be compensated at the time and one-half rate.

(d) Compensation at the time and one-half rate may be granted to exempt employees upon Commission approval.

(e) Overtime performed related or responsive to a disaster, emergency or health pandemic declared by the governor may be compensated at the time and one-half rate.
