Ohio uses the Jacob’s Point Factor Method to set compensation ranges for executive classifications. However, the compensation rate offered to executive staff is not tied to another evaluation process.

Hello!

Does your state use a scoring tool to evaluate executive leadership positions such as agency heads or other governor appointed positions? If so, would you share what you use? Thank you! 😊

Washington uses the Willis Point Factor Job Evaluation System to evaluate these positions based on the submitted position description. We evaluated these positions on three factors: knowledge and skills, mental demands and accountability. We then use the Willis System to assign points to each factor that determined the salary plateau.
