Hi Jamie,

In Louisiana, we refer to the term as an "official domicile."

1.20.2 'Official Domicile' means the following:
(a) The official domicile of an officer or employee assigned to an office, exclusive of temporary assignments, shall be the city in which the office is located.
(b) The official domicile of a person located in the field shall be the city or town nearest to the area where the majority of work is performed, or such city, town, or area as may be designated by the department head, provided that in all cases such designation must be in the best interests of the agency and not for the convenience of the employee.

Good morning,

In Kentucky, we are considering amendments to our existing regulatory definition of work station to cover both, a state office and telework/remote location(s), such as an employee's residence.  Currently, work station is defined as a singular office or residence street address. Because we have more employees working from their residence, on a telework schedule, we are finding that we need the flexibility to assign a primary work location and alternate work location(s). The definition of work station is important to us because it identifies the employee's appropriate local tax allocation and dictates when personal owned vehicle (POV) mileage reimbursement is due the employee.

If your state resources define work station, or a similar term, in a flexible manner that covers both office and telework/remote locations, would you please share your state's definition with us.
Your response would be greatly appreciated by Friday, December 4th.
